I Like Your Light Saber!

One of the gifts of having children is getting the opportunity to see how they put the world together from their viewpoint. After the fireworks we were walking back to our car. Many of the kids at the fireworks, and many adults for that matter, were running around with glowing swords. Daniel kept calling them “light sabers” as in the weapons from Star Wars and of which his is a huge fan. As we were set to cross the street, a police officer was holding back the traffic and waiving up forward with his lighted baton. “I like your light saber. I like your light saber,” he said quietly as we crossed in from of the officer.
